I started off the day on a 2 hour hike at Ammonite Falls, with the group I've been leading since September. I've been so lucky to be able explore new and familiar trails with them for the past 4 months. Although, this was my third time there, this was my first real experience seeing the falls, as I had only been there in the summer previously. Quite the different view!
In order to get down to the bottom of the falls, you have to rope climb your way down. Which I had done once before, but now I have proof. It was a great way to spend my morning. I followed up my hike with some Yoga, brunch, then a little self-reflection on these past 12 months.
The winter solstice is an opportunity for renewal, a shedding of bad habits and negative feelings and an embracing of hope amid the darkness of the season. Today was a reminder of all that I have accomplished over the past year. I'm looking forward to 2020!
Happy Solstice and to the start of a new year!
